What is Jumping/Agility?

Jumping and Agility are fast-paced dog sports where the handler (you!) directs their dog around an obstacle course. The course can include jumps, tunnels, weave poles, an a-frame and a dog walk. The aim of the game is to complete the course without making any mistakes and the fastest time wins.

Dogs of most shapes and sizes love jumping and agility because it is fun, they get to run and they get lots of rewards! There are 9 obstacles to learn as well as the handling techniques to navigate your dog around a course, giving you plenty of new dog training challenges!

Classes

Beginner Jumping/Agility

Suitable for dogs currently training obedience. You and your dog will learn foundation jumping and contact skills, working up to a 5 obstacle course. You and your dog will be introduced to the equipment and learn different handling techniques. Limited to 8 handler/dog combinations per class/semester.

Intermediate Jumping/Agility

Suitable for experienced dogs or dogs graduating from beginners jumping/agility. You will learn how to run courses that include specialty jumps and complex handling techniques. You will also start to practice on low to full-height contact equipment.

How to apply:

Let your obedience instructor know that you would like to enrol in beginners agility. They will let you know if there is anything you need to work on, or if you’re ready to start beginner training. Dogs must be at least 12 months old and be able to work off lead with other dogs around, then register your interest using the form below.  A club instructor will then be in contact with further details and arrange an assessment if needed.  Please note, places are strictly limited and will only be offered at the start of each semester or where a place becomes available.
